Diablo General Engineering is home to people who are passionate about what they do each day at work. Our crew's care about the impression they make on a project, whether it's regarding the quality of their work or their interactions with others.
Our History
Diablo General Engineering was founded in 1980 by Bob and Brenda Truax. Bob became the trusted grading and utility contractor for many home builders in the East Bay Area. He was known for his ability to take on challenging grading jobs that other contractors could not handle. Under Bob's leadership the company grew to the size it is at today.
In 2023, after multiple years of planning, Frankie Lozano and Evan Miller took over the business as President and Vice President respectively.

Our Core Values
Humility – The not-so-secret sauce. Humility is so rare in construction, to the point of when it is present, it is almost jarring. This is at the core of our culture. And it is a contagious culture that creates an atmosphere that people want to be in.
Over-Communication - Our clients always know where we are, what we are doing, and what’s going on thanks over-communication. Our communication style not only informs, but it builds trust. It shows that we are reliable and that we mean what we say with honesty and integrity.
Perseverance (Hard Working) – What we do can both difficult physically and exhausting mentally. Yet our crews show up every day ready to work with a smile. No one can out-work these teams. When you can “embrace the suck” together, the most difficult projects get completed.
Ownership - Everybody plays an important role here, and everybody owns that role. Without each and every person, we would not be successful. Ownership of these role is paramount and leads to our team empowered individuals that truly care about their work.
